Return Of The Jedi
Released on 25th May 1983, Return Of The Jedi was released to mass disappointment of fans and critics. It is the third film in what we now know as the Original Trilogy.
Whilst it did well in the box office and in my opinion is a good film in it's own right, it could not beat the prior Empire Strikes Back in a lot of people's minds.
Originally entitled Revenge Of The Jedi it was deemed a few weeks before release that a Jedi wouldn't commit revenge. There exists a poster and a trailer with the original name on and the most recent film Revenge Of The Sith alludes to the title.

I like this film, always have done - as a kid it was my favourite because of the battle at the end (ewoks were okay but I preferred the space battle).
As I have grown older I have been able to appreciate Empire a lot more in terms of atmosphere, storyline, love interest and the like. ROTJ simply does not have the same ... "panache" for want of a better word.
